Karen Routt is a domain expert in businesses that focus on aging, technology, and health care and have a functional focus on business development and strategy implementation. She has worked in the technology arena throughout her entire career and in the aging field since 1993. After serving as a live-in caregiver for her elderly uncle, she founded Magnolia Prime. This phone-based service helps seniors to remain independent, assists companies to better utilize their resources, and provides family members with peace of mind. Magnolia Prime’s clients include senior organizations and multi-family housing properties.

Ms. Routt’s consulting clients have included world-renowned corporate, research, and educational institutions. In Boston, she was the executive director of a geriatric care management practice company and served on the project management team of a retirement housing development company. She has several years of management consulting experience with top-tier firms where she focused on the information systems strategy, design, and implementation needs of Fortune 1000 companies. She eventually applied her private-sector skills and experiences to her political appointment as Chief of Staff for the mayor of Cambridge.

Ms. Routt was named the “2013 Woman of the Year” by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Silicon Valley Chapter after raising over $50,000 in 10 weeks. She serves on the Redwood City Housing and Human Concerns Committee. Stanford University recently presented her with a merit award for her volunteer leadership. Her other volunteer experience has been with the Stanford Business School Alumni Association and Cambridge Health Alliance. She also served in key leadership roles for several community-based organizations. She is a founding member of AgeTek Alliance, an organization that promotes aging-focused technology.

Ms. Routt received a BA in applied mathematics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Stanford University.
