Ms. Hong Chartrand is the program manager for the Arizona Health Disparities Center at the Arizona Department of Health Services. She is responsible for creating partnerships, leveraging program resources, managing communication tools and professional development workshops, communicating health-disparities-related information, conducting surveys and evaluations, and writing grants.

Ms. Chartrand previously worked for a community-based organization to plan, develop, and coordinate a culturally and linguistically appropriate health outreach and interpretation program. She has extensive experience in managing multicultural community-based projects in the healthcare arena, building partnerships, and developing resources. She also has extensive teaching experience in colleges and communities in both China and the United States.

Ms. Chartrand earned two master’s degrees from the University of Arizona in public administration and policy, with a concentration on health care, and East Asian studies. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in epidemiology from Arizona State University. She received training as a linguist from Beijing University in China and is currently pursuing her doctorate in public health at the University of Arizona College of Public Health.
